Pop superstar Lady Gaga dedicated a Nat King Cole cover to Prince William and Kate Middleton during her performance at Radio 1's Big Weekend. The 25-year-old sang a rendition of Orange Coloured Sky in honour of the royal couple during her hour-long set in Carlisle yesterday. Before singing the tune, Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, said: "I was wishing I was at the royal wedding." The Just Dance hitmaker, who arrived 30 minutes late for her performance, emerged from a coffin before she played five songs from her new album Born This Way.

Lady Gaga swaps music for media, edits Metro paper

Flamboyant pop star Lady Gaga ditched the music and switched to the media on Monday with a stint as a guest editor at the London headquarters of the global free newspaper network Metro.
Widely regarded as the world's biggest pop star, the 25-year-old New Yorker has also been busy promoting her second full-length studio album "Born This Way" which is available in stores from May 23.
Gaga arrived at Metro's offices wearing pink hair in a beehive style, black high heels, fishnet stockings and a black brassiere-like top.
"I'm sorry if my business attire is a little different" she joked as she shook hands with staff.
Gaga took charge of the morning editorial meeting, offering her opinion on a range of topics from bullying to the Japan earthquake to who her heroes are.
She immediately set out her vision for the paper in her role as guest editor for the day, touching on themes she has already mentioned as part of her mission as an entertainer.
"I feel so privileged I get to make music every day," she told staff. "If you have revolutionary potential you have a moral obligation to make the world a better place."
Her new record is the follow-up to her 2008 debut album "The Fame," which went on to sell more than 12 million copies and topped the charts. An extended play release "The Fame Monster" came out the following year.
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, has a huge and famously devoted fanbase around the world whom she calls her "little monsters."
In turn she refers to herself as "Mother Monster" whose every public appearance is a piece of performance art and outlandish fashion statement rolled into one, turning her into a cultural phenomenon as much as a musician.
"I really appreciate the opportunity and it's a wonderful chance for me to show the world that little monsters are not just a fan thing, but exist outside the music world altogether," Gaga said of her editing activities at Metro.
Gaga's more notorious outfits to date have included a raw meat dress she wore to the MTV Video Music Awards last year and her arrival at the Grammy Awards in February encased in a giant egg.
"I'm half living my life between reality and fantasy at all times," the "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" singer recently told the Guardian newspaper. "It's best not to ask questions and just enjoy."
It is not all just about enjoyment, however, and music writers and commentators who have interviewed the singer note a messianic dimension to her ambition which appears to go beyond merely selling records.
Her own online biography concludes: "And, now, I'm just trying to change the world one sequin at a time," albeit with "a wink in her eye."
It is not all plain sailing for the multi-Grammy Award winner, however.
The huge impact of The Fame means the pressure is on for Born This Way to match that commercial and critical success.
Religious groups accuse her of blasphemy, there was dissent in the ranks of her legions of fans over the cover art to Born This Way and she has reacted angrily to suggestions that the first single from the new record was copied from Madonna's 1989 hit "Express Yourself."

Former “Sister Sister” Star Tamera Mowry walked down the aisle Sunday night with Fox News Channel correspondent Adam Housley.

According to People, the happy couple wed at a vineyard in Napa Valley, Calif., surrounded by 300 loved ones.

“I’ve always wanted an outdoor wedding with lots of flowers,” Tamera told the mag. “I feel so lucky to have this beautiful day marrying my best friend.”

The bride, 32, reportedly wore a Carolina Herrera gown and her twin sister, Tia Mowry, served as the matron of honor.

The groom, 39, reportedly had eight groomsmen, who wore tuxedos and Converse sneakers.

“Tamera is beautiful inside out,” Adam said of his new wife.

The former “Sister Sister” star will appear with Tia in the upcoming “Tia & Tamera Take 2” on the Style Network this summer.

Jon Cryer Reacts To Ashton Kutcher Joining ‘Two And A Half Men’

Jon Cryer is finally speaking out about “Two and a Half Men” and he said he is thrilled his hit comedy will return to CBS.

“I’m jazzed about the news this morning that ‘Two and a Half Men’ is coming back! For all the rest of the cast and crew I’m sure they are equally excited,” Cryer, who plays Alan Harper on the series, said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Friday.

Cryer, who, for the most part, kept quiet following Sheen’s very public spat with CBS, the show’s parent company, and Warner Bros., the studio that produces the show, also offered praise for his departing co-star as the show carries on without him.

“I want to express my enormous gratitude to Charlie Sheen for eight great seasons,” Cryer’s statement to Access Hollywood continued. “I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve done together and I will miss him. But I’m also looking forward to this new beginning.”

On Friday, it was confirmed that Ashton Kutcher will join the hit comedy series from creator Chuck Lorre, and Cryer had nothing but praise for his new co-star.

“Ashton is an extraordinarily talented guy and his presence will be an asset to our show,” Cryer’s statement read.

“We are old friends from our male-modeling days and we’re both looking forward to being judged for our comedic artistry, as opposed to our exceptional physical beauty,” Cryer added, making a reference to Ashton’s pre-TV and movie career as a model.

Shagird Review – Unpredictably good

Have you heard of Shagird before? You might have but it probably didn't stay in your mind for long just because the current big stars are not in it. But Shagird is certainly a dark horse with thrilling story. It has lots of twist and turns, and just a blink of the eyes could cost you an important plot. It brings to light the true nature of people in power, like politicians, gangsters and police officers.

Shagird is about a police officer, who does his duties dutifully in his own unusual ways. He has good rapport with corrupt politicians and gangsters. He does anything to let his family lead a lavish life. In the meantime, he cleans up the scum in the city. However, problem crops up when an honest police officer joins his team.

Shagird is a hard-hitting film that reflects the true nature of Indians in power. It keeps you on your toes all through. 'Unpredictability' is the USP of the film. Director Tigmanshu Dhulia has proved that he is an efficient storyteller. He has handled the plots beautifully. Nana Patekar is a gem as always. He fits perfectly into the character. Other cast of the film Zakir Hussain, director Anurag Kashyap, Mohit Ahlawat, Rimmi Sen, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Khan Jahangir and Virendra Saxena too have done justice to their roles.

On the whole, Shagird is a well-made film with power-packed screenplay and wonderful performances. You should not miss this unconventional film!

Ragini MMS gets mixed reviews

The hype around Ragini MMS was huge. Its raunchy posters and the subsequent protests added more publicity to the film. But this Ekta Kapoor-produced film is unlikely to live up to the hype, as it has got mixed reviews from the critics. Some gave good reviews while others gave not so impressive ones.

Popular film critic Taran Adarsh is in all praise for the film and thinks that it’s a trend-setter. “Ragini MMS is a fine amalgamation of horror, paranormal activity and sex. In simple words it is a creepy, spine-chilling date movie that imparts a story which is daunting, imaginative and unconventional. It is an innovative form of sex and horror, which will impress the Gen X. Have a panicky weekend with Ragini MMS,” he wrote.

Gaurav Malani also thinks Ragini MMS has the elements to send chills down the spine. “Ragini MMS is amongst those contemporary horror films which don't delve much into the past of the ghost, yet trying to present some chilling moments,” he wrote, adding, “While it's not absolutely original or the scariest film ever, it's not formulaic either, like most Indian face-horrors. Ragini MMS stays true to its genre and does induce some spooky moments.”

However, Mihir Fadnavis is not impressed by the film. “Ragini MMS is a gigantic, rubbery wad of badness — it is just another derivative, unpleasant exercise in cliches being passed off as horror,” he wrote. “Ragini MMS is never terrifying. Worse, it ends with a silly twist that's much more likely to raise eyebrows than goosebumps. Budget limitations are no excuse for sloppy, nonsensical writing, for as busy as this movie is, you'd think it would have more going on,” he added.

Shubhra Gupta too thinks that the film has nothing unique to offer. “Ragini MMS’ is strange mix of Hollywood horror influences and old-style Bollywood ghost stories. The film forgets a basic axiom : what you cannot see is far more scary. `Ragini MMS’ borrows its voyeuristic thread, and a face too heavily from previous Ekta production Love Sex Aur Dhoka, and goes about showing us too much,” he wrote.

Well, Ragini MMS, directed by Pawan Kripalani and starring Raj Kumar Yadav and Kainaz Motivala, has received mixed reviews from the critics, but we will come to know its final verdict after a few days

Ashton Kutcher officially signs Two and a Half Men

American actor Ashton Kutcher, husband of actress Demi Moore, has stepped into Charlie Sheen’s shoes. Tmz.com reported that he has officially signed on to replace Charlie Sheen on the American comedy series 'Two and a Half Men'.

“Charlie's base pay on the show was $1.25 million an episode. We've learned Ashton will get more than half - more than $625,000 but less than $900,000,” TMZ.com quoted a source as saying. It is reported that Charlie was paid more than $2 million an episode.

CBS boss Les Moonves is expected to announce Ashton’s entry to 'Two and a Half Men' very soon. However, the Punk’d star will not play Charlie Harper character. Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones are also expected to join the cast.

KBC 5 promos shot in Paa's place

Actor Amitabh Bachchan shot the first promo for 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 5' on Wednesday at Kemps Corner, where previously he had shot a portion of his film Paa (2009) with Paresh Rawal and Abhishek. The dubbing for the audio-visual is already done and the promo will go on air between May 8 and 10.

The promo will open up nationwide entries for the show, the first question will be aired on May 27, at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment television. It is also reported that the question may at the same time appear on Set Max in the middle of the IPL semi-finals.

Asked if the film would be at all autobiographical, Aishwarya replied: 'That's what the viewer will probably be searching for, but very honestly, as an actor, it's your professional responsibility to give to your characters with absolute commitment.

It's not just about you going out there and doing your own thing and creating your own character.

'It's the director who wrote it and that's the way it gets read and that's the way it gets eventually brought to life.'
