Lindsay Lohan ‘feels punished for being famous’

Child-star turned bad girl Lindsay Lohan has reportedly claimed that her most recent prison sentence, for 120 days, which she has received in her jewellery theft case was only handed down because of her fame. Yeah you’re right Lindsay, it couldn’t possibly have anything to do with driving whilst drunk or stealing necklaces…

According to PopEater, the actress, whose charges were reduced from felony grand theft to misdemeanor during a court appearance on Friday, believes that she has been subject to unfair punishment in order to set an example to other celebrities. You know, because no other celebrities have been arrested before. Oh except Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Nicholas Cage, Shia LaBeouf, Kiefer Sutherland, Nicole Richie…

A source spoke to the website and said: "She is being treated differently from everyone else because she is famous. We were all in shock when she was forced to return to jail just to make an example out of her. It's not right - especially when she is working so hard to live a healthy life.

"She is innocent and can't understand what is going on. She didn't steal any necklace and will be found innocent. It's obvious this is only happening because she is famous and anyone that thinks celebrities get away with stuff or let off will think again after seeing this."

Lohan was released from prison after five hours upon posting $75,000 bail.

She has said that she is "excited" to get her life together following the case's resolution.
